Dad’s Day
Dad’s Day is just around the corner. I thought it would be fun to create a CHILDish Dad face that kids could colour, cut and glue together as a present for their Dad. The glasses are a bit tricky to cut for little hands, so make sure to help them out.
The CHILDish Dad craft is a three page PDF which includes a bald Dad face, selection of glasses and/or mustaches, and three hair styles to choose from. Have fun!

Canada Post Strike
Today, CUPW’s gave notice that the union plans to begin strike activities at 11:59 p.m. EDT on June 2, 2011.
CHILDish will still operate as normal. Below are some tips to help us all ride out the strike.
• If you live in the US, the Canada Post strike will not effect you at all. CHILDish products are manufactured in the US and will be shipped directly to you through USPS or UPS.
• If you live in Edmonton or Ottawa, CHILDish can still offer free local pick up at no cost. Follow this link to place your order for pick up.
• If you live in any other city in Canada, try to order as many like items as possible in one order. Larger orders will ship UPS or FEDEX as per usual.
• If you order one item, your order will still be shipped to you using UPS or FEDEX. At this time CHILDish shipping charges will not increase. If the strike lasts longer than 2 weeks, shipping costs for individual items will increase until the strike is over.
As usual you will receive a shipping notice once your item has shipped. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.
Thank you,
Sarah Stickland

Veggie Chips
I love to snack, especially on crunchy salty treats. I came across this veggie chip recipe and am excited to give them a try! I have a feeling the kids will enjoy them as much as I will.
City and Baby
CHILDish is featured on a wonderful local blog, City and Baby. Check out the article on CHILDish and follow this blog for fun and interesting information on the city of Edmonton.
the rik rak studio
I’ve teamed up with one of my favourite blogs, the rik rak studio, for a fun give away. There you will find little ideas, inspirations and goings on in the world of rikrak: mommying, handmaking, eco.living, design, encouragements, fun folks, how-to’s, giveaways and much much more.
Stop by the rik rak studio to enter the contest (ends May 13, 2011) and stay a while to see all the other fun posts.
DIY Baby Wipes
- Round plastic container (Rubbermaid #6 or #9 works well)
- Thick, strong roll of white paper towels
- Sharp knife to cut paper towel roll in half
- 2 cups water that has been boiled and cooled to room temperature
- 2 Tablespoons baby shampoo or baby wash
- 1 Tablespoon baby oil
- Cut the roll of paper towels in half with a knife and remove the inner cardboard core.
- Mix liquid ingredients in container.
- Place the paper towels in the container with the cut side facing downward.
- Secure lid tightly and allow to sit until all liquid is absorbed into the paper towels.
- Turn the container upside-down and allow to sit for 10 minutes.
- Open container and ‘start’ the roll by pulling a towel from the inside of the roll.
- Wipes are now ready to use.
